How Durbin's Beginning Farm started

Our Heritage

Durbin's Beginning started as a land grant given to Daniel Durbin in 1760.  Since then the the land has been used for growing crops, pasturing animals, but today it is nearly completely covered with hardwood timber.

Today, a father and son care for the forest, conducting selective harvests of the trees, milling some trees into lumber and completely furnishing our homes with hand-crafted furniture, and wooden crafts of various kinds for the kitchen and living areas. With a focus on quality, our handcrafted items reflect the beauty of nature and the skill of our family.

We take pride in every piece we create, ensuring each product embodies durability and aesthetic appeal.  At Durbin’s Beginning, our philosophy centers around family values, respect for nature, and a passion for woodworking that has been passed down through generations.
